has provided compensation related consulting services to
a broad array of
employers, large and small, not-for-profit and privately
held. Some of our previous
engagements include:
Aircraft maintenance, leasing and module
fabrication firm. Redesigned and linked exempt pay
structures of fifteen separate units at multiple US
locations to facilitate some commonality of position
titles and pay grades and improve clarity of career
paths for professional and mid-management personnel.
Retail convenience store operations.
Created dual, overlapping broadband and traditional pay
grade structures covering all employees at numerous
mid-western and eastern US locations so as to provide a
credible basis for deliberating employee pay while
easing the administration of transfers and unifying
efforts across recently merged organizations having
markedly different cultures.
Large, private academic institution.
Conducted special study of all HR positions and openings
on behalf of newly hired VP of Human Resources who
desired an objective, independent review of the entire
HR organization.
Community focused not-for-profit organization.
Designed and implemented a new pay rate structure for
all management and staff at the request of the Advisory
Board of Directors and teamed with a premier defined
contribution and employee benefits firm to analyze and
install a "full" cafeteria plan and concurrently
completed an intermediate sanctions report for the
Board.
Privately-held spring water bottling company.
Worked with specialized tax advisory firm to develop a
very long range incentive arrangement spanning twenty
years, to be provided the CEO by the firm’s owners and
incorporating cost, sales and financial metrics.
Regional commercial HVAC firm. Researched
and reported on “reasonable comp” issues
pertaining to top management at the request of general
counsel and subsequently was deposed as one element of
an extensive legal proceeding.
Electronic and electrical products manufacturer.
Completed a number of projects focused upon internal
equity, pay and bonus targets among IT, Finance and
Production positions and thereby developed a series of
recommendations for the practical resolution of
apparently historical problem situations as well as
several regulatory compliance issues.
Educators association. Trained a task
force on job evaluation procedures, redesigned key
elements of a performance management process and revised
selected portions of an employee handbook to recognize
current regulatory requirements and to clarify a number
of benefit and total reward explanations.
Venture capital firm. Compiled extensive
competitive pay, benefits and executive compensation
trends among companies similarly situated to several the
firm had recently purchased and taken private.
